4 Stars ravens review
this dvd includes all 3 playoff games(vs broncos at titans at raiders) plus superbowl 35(vs giants) in their entirety it’s a pretty good buy the only reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because some of these games arent really the most exciting games to watch

game 1: wildcard playoff game vs broncos(12/31/00) the ravens dominated this game holding denver to only a field goal and the defense dominated as usual holding qb gus frerrote do only 13 completions out of 28 attempts…shannon sharpe also had a nice reception in this game for a td.

game 2:divisional playoff game at titans(1/7/01) statistically the titans dominated this game till the 4th quater when 2 fluke plays led to 2 ravens touchdowns to lead the ravens to victory

game 3:afc championship at raiders(1/14/01) this game is actually quite boring other than shannon sharpe’s 96 yard td reception there really wasn’t any excitment to this game in fact sharpe’s td was the only td scored in this entire game.

game 4:superbowl 35 vs giants(1/28/01) ravens win 34-7 with the giants only score being a kickoff return for a td the ravens d intercepted giants quaterback kerry collins 4 times.

4 Stars great thrill reliving ravens super bowl run
The editing of these games are great, but I was a little disapointed that there was no super bowl post game celebration, interviews or trophy presentation. It’s still worth the money. I recomend this to any raven fan.

4 Stars Ravens History
The DVD’s worked fine, but I also ran into a labeling issue with disc 4. It was the same as disc 3, but had the Superbowl 35 label on it. Other than that though, the discs are awesome. It is great to see the full broadcast of those games. Any die-hard Ravens fan will definitely want to grab this set.

5 Stars Essential, for us Ravens fans anyway.
If you’re a Ravens fan this is, plain and simple, essential. Yeah, the TV coverage was more comprehensive, but your VHS tapes aren’t this clear either. Buy it. And if you’re a Steelers fan, get lost.

5 Stars Check Carefully
I’m a Ravens fan so I love this DVD. However, the first one I ordered had to be returned because one of the disks was flawed and wouldn’t play. On the the replacement, two disks in the four-disk set are mis-labeled but they all play fine. Overall, I would give the DVD a five-star rating because they are the full-game telecasts of the team’s four playoff games in 2000 and it’s hard to mess that up. But, the company handling the duplications and labeling should be more careful.

5 Stars NFL Films - The Philadelphia Eagles - The Complete History
No problems. Very fast service. Perfect condition. Couldn’t ask for more.

4 Stars No true Eagles Fan collection will be Complete without this DVD
I rented this movie not knowing what to expect. I figuired I could watch it over the course of two days. Well I was pleasantly surprised when I put the DVD in and 2 hours later I was still watching in amazement. They did a great job of presenting an overview of the History of our Team! I enjoyed it soo much I even got that familiar jumpy feeling in my stomache from watching some of the incredible game footage. And I warn you for all you serious football in your face gridiron Fans there is no shortage on the action! This DVD is a must have for Eagles fans young and old. Hey! Are we not the best football fans in the world or what? E-A-G-L-E-S!!!! Now go get your copy!!!

4 Stars Great DVD … mostly …
A must have for Eagles fans, but I felt like the longer I watched it the faster it moved.

It examines in great depth and detail through the teams history, all the way up until about the end of the Dick Vermeil Era. After that, it just tears though about the next 25 years. There’s no mention at all of Marion Campbell taking over the team and very little examination of Norman Breman’s disastrous ownership. Both Buddy Ryan and Ray Rhoades seem to only warrant extended footnotes, while Rich Kotite is almost skipped over entirely. At this point I felt that NFL films was trying WAY too hard to start looking at the franchise (and current ownership) through rose-colored glasses.

Granted, in the grand scheme of their history, this is probably just a small piece. I’m twenty-eight though; these are the years I remember best. It was disappointing that this part of the team’s history was so abbreviated.

In all though, there’s just a treasure chest of material here that I had a blast pouring over. I can’t possibly not recommend it, it just loses a star for such a quick wrap-up.

NFL Films Super Bowl XXXVIII New England Patriots Championship Video

NFL Films Super Bowl XXXVIII New England Patriots Championship Video

You don’t have to be a New England Patriots fan to enjoy this 3-hour DVD from NFL Films, but it sure helps. The highlight is found in the extras–every play from Super Bowl XXXVIII (the best ever, dare we say?), in which the Patriots prevailed 32-29 over the Carolina Panthers. Using the TV feed for visuals with the radio feed with Dick Stockton, you can view every play in just over an hour with a great deal of the excitement still intact. On-screen graphics and a few replays keep you in the action, and only purists will resist the chance to relive the exciting game in this condensed format. Other extras include in-depth game analysis, highlights from “media day,” and post-game interviews (some right on the field). Unlike previous highlight packages, there are no performances from the pre-game or notorious halftime show. The main hour-long program recaps the Patriots 17-win season with NFL Films’ winning mix of excellent photography, invigorating music, tightly edited player interviews, and the poetic mastery of narrator Harry Kalas. –Doug Thomas

3 Stars get “3 games to glory II” instead
Although this is a good DVD review of the season, I would say to anyone to get the 3 games to glory II DVD instead as exactly the same material is on this DVD but with 3 games to glory II you get an additional DVD with a further 150 minutes of stuff. I bought this first and wish I hadn’t bothered now. Get 3 games to glory instead pats fans!!!

5 Stars I LOVE YOU NEW ENGLAND!
I just love what Warner Brothers did for this dvd. I have loved the Pats for years and even though I live in Missouri now I still suport my home team even though kids hate them here. Tom Brady is the best quarterback ever and I like to see him play well. I honor every Pats super bowl victory to be deticated to my whole familey in Fitchburg Massachusetts!

LOVE YOU NEW ENGLAND!!!

4 Stars This video is edited I hate the FCC
The New England Patriots are playing against the Carolina Panthers. A part of me wanted the panters to win cause the Panthers quarterback was born in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and I’m a Louisiana person myself. But I also wanted the Patriots to win more. The first quarter was so sloppy it was just a pitiful lousey game. When the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarter came it started to get better and better. The same guy that kick the field goal and score the winning point for the Patroits 2 years has now done it for this game right before the clock ran out. Tom Brady has now two championship rings. I was dissapointed that this dvd didn’t show the super bowl halftime show with Janet Jackson exposed her boob. When is the uncut verson coming out.

4 Stars Great Way To Remember The 2003 Season
Unlike the 2001 season DVD, this one has a lot more footage but I wish they had even more behind the scenes footage in the locker room. Aside from that, the recap of all the games is very good and it details a great playoff season as well. Solid DVD and any Patriots fan will not be disappointed!!

**** RECOMMENDED

5 Stars JUST GREAT
The night before XXXIX I watched this and just hoped that Patriots would repeat. There are three segments of this DVD that really showcase Brady. The first is an early season game when he is in the pocket making his reads. In slow motion you see his head move from left to right 1, 2, 3, and then he zips the ball to his receiver. The second shows his pocket presence. As the pocket colapses he deftly pushes off his lineman, directs his his recever and passes for a competion. The last is the coin toss of an overtime game. The Ref tosses the coin and then there is some disagreement about what the opposing team called. Brady says to the ref, “look at him, he knows he’s lying.” It’s just funny.

The Patriots have always been a team I root for. I guess as a Minnesota resident, the only time I would not want them to win is if they were playing the Vikequeens.

NFL Americas Game The Super Bowl Champions San Francisco 49ers Collection

June 28, 2009 by Football Injuries · Leave a Comment

NFL Americas Game The Super Bowl Champions San Francisco 49ers Collection

Three teams have won 5 Super Bowls. The San Francisco 49ers were the first to do it. In 1981, just 2 years after finishing with a 2 and 14 record, Head Bill Walsh’s “West Coast Offense” fueled the 49ers victory over the Bengals in Super Bowl XVI. By 1984, the 49ers were a dominant team, becoming the first team ever to win 15 games in the regular season. They finished the seaon by defeating the Miami Dolphins in Super Bowl XIX. Four years later, Joe Montana led San Francisco on a desperate 92 yard drive, tossing the winning touchdown pass to John Taylor with 34 seconds left in Super Bowl XXIII. In 1989, Walsh retired from coaching, replaced by George Seifert and the 49ers never missed a beat. San Francisco won 14 games plus two playoff victories that year and scored a record 55 points in the 49ers complete dismantling of the Broncos in Super Bowl XXIV. In 1994, the 49ers won their 5th Super Bowl, this time behind Quarterback Steve Young. Young, who had lived in Joe Montana’s shadow, burst into the spotlight and tossed a record six touchdown passes as San Francisco defeated San Diego 49-26 in Super Bowl XXIX. The story of San Francisco’s 1981 season is told by Wide Receiver Dwight Clark, Offensive Lineman, Randy Cross and Hall of Fame Defensive Back, Ronnie Lott. 1984 is relived through the remembrances of Tight End Russ Francis, Linebacker Keena Turner and Defensive Back Dwight Hicks. Hall of Fame Head Coach, Bill Walsh, Offensive Tackle Harris Barton and Running Back Roger Craig recount the 49ers season of 1988. George Seifert, Fullback Tom Rathman and future Hall of Fame Receiver, Jerry Rice reminisce about the 1989 season. And Hall of Fame Quarterback, Steve Young, Defensive Back Merton Hanks and Tight End Brent Jones tell viewers what it was like to be a member of the first 5-time Super Bowl winners.

5 Stars Re-Live the Greatness!
This series is awesome!

Love your team?

Know your team?

Watch this!

The only downside is no new championships to talk about!

4 Stars Interesting perspective
I grew up watching the 49ers and I remember them getting creamed by the Vikings - I wasn’t old enough to really know about their first 2 titles. It was very nostalgic but a bit short. One thing that I did like were some of the behind the scenes perspectives. Although I do agree with some others, I have 49er highlight tapes - the ones that are the review of the season and I’m dying to get DVD copies.

4 Stars A fantastic buy for NFL fans
If you’ve never seen any of the America’s Game episodes then you are missing out. This is by far a very different NFL films product - much less of the frustrating super slow motion footage and more about the actual games themselves.

This particular product is a must-have for any 49ers fan. The 1981 DVD in particular is outstanding, but all 5 DVDs are of very high quality. One of the unique aspects of this set of DVDs is how they each compliment each other, and basically recap the franchise between the years 1979-1994. For example, the 1984 DVD picks up where the 1981 DVD left off, and talks about how the 49ers didn’t make the playoffs in 1982 and lost in the NFC Championship game in ‘83.

The DVD also faithfully re-caps the Quarterback controversy of 1988, which brings me to the only bad thing I can say about this collection; the absence of Joe Montana. NFL films uses enough stock footage of previous Montana interviews to keep fans satisfied, but much like the fantastic Dennis Georgatos book Game Of My Life, Montana’s absence is the only noticeable flaw, but a glaring one at that.

Is this enough to recommend against purchase? Of course not!! Even die-hard 49er (and NFL) fans will be reminded of some awesome highs and a few of the lows which they may have forgotten about.

My final example illustrates the in-depth nature of the DVDs: during the 1984 season San Fransisco went 18-1. Their one loss during the season? Week 7 against the Steelers. At the end of the game Pittsburgh was driving for the win, but San Fransisco was able to stop them on downs at the goaline, but on the 4th down play, Ronnie Lott was called for a penalty which, although later shown to be a bad call, gave Pittsburgh a fresh set of downs and helped them win the game. The DVD includes all of this footage, from the actual broadcast, but it doesn’t unnecessarily dwell on mundane details. My point is that each DVD is packed with information, but they keep up a good pace to keep the audience entertained.

5 Stars Great DVD Set
If your a San Francisco 49er fan then you will love this dvd set! It takes you back to those great years with interviews from some of the players of those Super Bowl teams and video highlights of the season all the way into the Super Bowl. There are also never before seen videos of the team and players off of the football field!

5 Stars A MUST HAVE for any 49er Faithful!
Great stuff! really enjoyed the ‘never b4 seen’ material. Definitely a ‘must have’ for any who considers themselves a 49er Faithful! Only wish each dvd was more than a hr. long. But will be sure to watch these over & over; so glad NFL put this pkg. together. Only other dislike: WHY wasn’t Joe narrating/interviewed???
